1. What one word best describes what matters most in business today?

Authenticity

2. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

My grandfather told me never speak badly about anyone and you’ll have lots of friends. It was good advice. We all have bad days when we aren’t at our best. We are human.

3. How do you juggle the demands of life and work?

I take a lot of deep breaths. I also drink wine. Can I say that?

4. What was your first job?

My first job after University was with Great West Life, now Canada Life. I was a small group insurance representative. That’s where my passion to help small business navigate the world of employee benefits grew.

5. What’s your idea of a perfect rainy day Sunday afternoon?

Afternoons at the cottage working on a jigsaw puzzle or playing a board game with my kids.

6. What’s the one beverage you can’t live without?

Wine. Did I say that again?

7. What is your most treasured family heirloom?

8. What song do you always play at full volume?

Any Maroon 5 song. Really loud.

9. What tastes so gross you won’t even be in the same room with it?

Marmite. It’s awful. I’m not sure how anyone eats it. No one needs that much B-vitamins.

10. Favourite childhood candy?

Pop Rocks. But you have to make sure you keep your mouth closed not to get them in your eye.
